Wednesday, 26th July 2017, 18:30 -20:00
Amina Muridi is a university student, studying English language with creative writing. She has been writing ever since she could hold a pen. In 2010 she entered a poetry competition and got her poem published in an anthology book called 'Love Islam'. After she graduates she’s hoping to support and help many girls in Somalia - maybe open a community centre where there will be ways for young women to express their creativity - through henna, poetry or anything beauty related. Amina has been a poet for about 7 years now, and she was told that poetry runs in the family and 'inherited' it from her great aunt. Great poets & spoken word artists like Warsaw Shire, Boonaa Mohamed, Rumi & Sarah Kay inspired her. She writes mainly about spirituality, psychology & religion.
