Cargo of Limbs
Thursday, 21st November 2019 | 18:30 - 20:30
‘Cargo of Limbs’ is a long poem by the poet, critic and translator Martyn Crucefix, which takes its inspiration from Virgil’s Aeneid, and centres on Andras, a journalist covering the plight of migrants fleeing their countries over the Mediterranean Sea. The book is accompanied by photographs by the filmmaker Amel Alzakout, who recorded her journey on one of the migrant boats with a camera attached to her wrist.
Martyn will be joined by translator and poet Stephen Watts and Iraqi poet Adnan al-Sayegh
The event is supported by Hercules Editions
