Laila Shawa: A Living Artist

A memorial event of reminiscences, tributes and love for a great artist Laila Shawa.
Artists, curators, family and friends are gathering at the P21 Gallery in London on November 24 to honour the memory of the renowned Palestinian artist Laila Shawa who died last month, aged 82.
The memorial event, held in the presence of the honourable ambassador Husam Zomlot, head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK, will be chaired by the Palestinian architect Antoine Raffoul, RIBA.
Invited speakers include Jane Frere, Janet Rady, Aser el Saqqa, Randa Ashmawy and Sandra Watfa.
The exhibition will open at P21 at 6 pm with presentations starting at 7 pm. Several artworks by Laila Shawa will be on display at P21 and will remain on show until December 3rd.
