"To Survive To Witness"
EXHIBITION OPENING HOURS | 18th February - 13th March 2026 | Tuesdays - Saturdays 11:00 - 17:00
P21 Gallery, in collaboration with Bab idDeir Art Gallery and Art Zone Palestine, is pleased to present To Survive To Witness, a solo exhibition by Gaza-based Palestinian artist Marwan Nassar.
Created under conditions of war, displacement, starvation, and the constant threat of annihilation, Nassar’s paintings bear witness to lived realities in Gaza during one of its most devastating periods. His works capture moments of sorrow, loss, and quiet endurance, documenting fragments of daily life in wartime: the faces of the displaced, grieving mothers, the persistent presence of animals, and fleeting traces of normalcy amid widespread destruction.
Originally, the exhibition encompasses more than 300 artworks, collected, restored, and presented virtually by Art Zone Palestine, a platform dedicated to retrieving, and reconsider artworks including those that have been destroyed, stolen, or obliterated through war or in the context of resisting occupation.
This physical exhibition at P21 Gallery presents a curated selection of over 40 high-quality, signed limited-edition works, created during the ongoing war in Gaza (2023–2025). These editions will be available for sale in direct support of the artist.
To Survive To Witness stands as a visual archive of collective endurance and resilience, and as a powerful testament to an artist’s unwavering commitment to bearing witness through art, against erasure, silencing, and destruction.
The exhibition opens on 11 February and runs until 13 March.
Born in Gaza in 1984, Marwan Nassar is a Palestinian visual artist and educator. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Al-Aqsa University and, until October 7, worked as a lecturer in the Faculty of Art at University College in Gaza. Nassar has held several solo exhibitions in Gaza and the West Bank and has participated in numerous group exhibitions locally, regionally, and internationally. In addition to his artistic practice, he supervises workshops aimed at strengthening the cultural and artistic capacities of postgraduate visual arts students in Gaza.
