"Puppets" Invisible Strings
P21 Gallery is pleased to present the Puppets exhibition, which explores the vulnerability of the human condition in an age marked by psychological fragility. In this exhibition, Shihab creates a visual trauma using artistic elements to forcefully engage the audience, making them feel the invisible strings that control them, and encouraging them to break free. Through a unique blend of abstraction and realism, Shihab’s work confronts emotional shocks that provoke deeper reflection.
This interactive exhibition is enhanced by six original music pieces composed by the professional composer Yousef Musharbash. Drawing inspiration from Shihab’s artworks, Musharbash translates the visual into sound, crafting an unwritten poem that amplifies the emotional experience of the viewer. The music will be played throughout the exhibition, deepening the connection between the audience and the artworks.
Empowering the audience to actively engage with the artworks, this exhibition fosters personal interpretation and participation. It highlights the tragic reality of the “manipulated individual,” challenging toxic masculinity and negative societal practices, particularly in the Middle East.
In collaboration with P21 Gallery, Shihab hopes to inspire awareness and action, encouraging a collective effort to break free from these invisible strings.
